Information Security Governance

• Develop information security strategy to align with business strategy and direction
• Obtain senior management commitment and support for information security across the entire enterprise
• Define information security governance roles and responsibilities
• Establish reporting and communication channels regarding information security governance activities

CISM course Part 2

Information Risk Management

• Develop a systematic, analytical, and continuous risk management process
• Understand and implement risk identification, analysis, and mitigation activities
• Define and prioritize risk mitigation strategies
• Appropriately report changes in risk to the correct levels of management on a periodic and event-driven basis

CISM course course Part 3

Information Security Program Development

• Develop and maintain plans for implementing an information security strategy
• Specify the activities to be performed within the IS program
• Ensure alignment between the IS program and other assurance functions (e.g. physical, HR, quality, IT)
• Identify internal and external resources (e.g. finances, people, equipment, systems) required to execute the IS program
• Ensure the development of information security architectures (e.g. people, processes, technology)
• Establish, communicate and maintain information security policies that support the  security strategy

Information Security Program Management

• Manage internal and external resources required to execute the information security program
• Ensure that processes are and procedures are performed in compliance with the organizations policies and standards

Incident Management and Response

• Develop and implement processes for detecting, identifying, analysing and responding to information security incidents.
• Establish escalation and communication processes and lines of authority.

 CISM Exam Registration Information

After completing your standard CISM training course, the next step is to register and sit the exam. Before taking your CISM training course, it’s worth noting that the exam  takes place only twice every year-in June and December. The exam dates and registration fees are available on the F.A.Q page of ISACA’s website.

The deadlines for the  registration and the CISM exam dates appear on the Central UK’s event list whenever these become available from ISACA International.
